Hiroshima commemorates 70th anniversary of atomic bombing

  • The 70th anniversary of the atomic bomb being dropped by a U.S. aircraft on Hiroshima is being commemorated by the people of the city. According to media reports, the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, attended a meeting, which was held at Hiroshima’s memorial park. The bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and Nagasaki, three days later, resulted in bringing the war to an end. At least 140,000 people were killed in Hiroshima.
