Helmut Kohl Passes Away

The architect of German unification, former Chancellor, Helmut Kohl passed away on June 16 at the age of 87. He served in the aforementioned position from 1982 to 1998 and after Berlin Wall fell he brought West Germany and East Germany together. He also introduced the euro alongwith Francois Mitterrand, the-then President of France and his trusted ally. Following his death, flags at institutions run by EU are expected to remain at half-mast as ordered by Jean-Claude Juncker, the Chief of European Commission.
