Hedge fund founder shot dead in New York

  • Thomas Gilbert Sr, the founder of a $200 million hedge fund, has been shot dead on Sunday, 4 January, in New York, according to media reports.

    Gilbert, 70, was involved in a domestic argument. No arrests have been made, but the police are seeking to question his son.

    Gilbert had started the Wainscott Capital Partners fund in 2011, and was its president.

    Reports said that the body was found in his Manhattan flat and a firearm was recovered from the house.
