Head of Islamic State Killed in Afghanistan, Confirm US and Afghan Officials

  • As per reports, US and Afghan officials confirmed on Sunday that the head of Islamic State in Afghanistan, Abdul Hasib, was killed in an April raid in the eastern province of Nangarhar by the US and Afghan troops.

    Pentagon mentioned that it had earlier confirmed Hasib’s death. It also said that there are still 1,000 IS fighters in Afghanistan.

    Reports also say that Pentagon is going to ask White House to send thousand more soldiers to Afghanistan in order to break a deadlocked fight with the Taliban.
