Hawaiian village evacuates as lava threatens homes
October 29 , 2014
Residents of Pahoa, a Hawaiian village, have started evacuating to avoid the path of a lava, according to media reports.
Big Island’s Kilauea lava has been erupting for more than three decades, but it has burst from a fresh vent recently, reports say.
The lava has already flown over a cemetery, and a few roads to Pahoa have been closed.
By Tuesday, the lava had reached a home on an edge of the village. Residents have few options, but to watch the lava destroy their homes — and pray.
