Half of the world doesn't know of the Holocaust
May 18 , 2014
A new poll has revealed that about 54 percent of people in the world are aware of the Holocaust, out of which 32 percent think it never happened or consider it to be an exaggeration.
It appears that the numbers are worse in North Africa and the Middle East, where only 38 percent of people know about the Holocaust. Moreover, the AP notes that 9 percent of people in the US believed in several Jewish stereotypes and about 31 percent of them saw Jews as being more loyal to Israel than to the US.
"Our findings are sobering but, sadly, not surprising," the Anti-Defamation League's director said.
