Greece's Golden Dawn MPs to face criminal trial
October 17 , 2014
A Greek public prosecutor has ordered on Thursday, October 16, that all MPs of the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party be tried for criminal offences.
Over 50 party members should be tried for using the outfit as a political front for pursing several illegal activities, the order further says.
In his 700-page dossier, Isidoros Doyiakos, the state prosecutor, charged the suspects with murder, and several attacks on immigrants, gays, and left activists.
All 16 Golden Dawn MPs are currently in custody, pending trial. Party leaders have openly praised Adolf Hitler in the past.
