Greece names caretaker cabinet
May 18 , 2012
A cabinet of professors and diplomats has been sworn in in Greece to guide the troubled eurozone state into fresh elections on June 17.
The 300 MPs were elected on May 6 and are taking their seats for a single day.
Earlier this month, voters punished the two mainstream parties that agreed to cuts required under international bailouts.
Opinion polls suggest Syriza, a leftist bloc opposed to the cuts, will win the biggest share of parliamentary seats in next month’s elections.
