Greece expels second wave of migrants to Turkey as per EU deal

  • More than 200 migrants were deported under the controversial deal between EU and Turkey in which Turkey has agreed to take back all the illegal migrants entering Greece after March 20. The refugees, most of them Pakistani men, were sent back across the Aegean Sea amid strong protest from activists chanting “EU, shame on you” and “freedom for the refugees”. Another 97 people were sent back via land border to Turkey in a separate operation. Before entering Dikili, the deported migrants underwent health check-up and registration. From Dikili, they will be deported back to their home country.
