Global Trends 2030 Predicts More Power To Asia
December 12 , 2012
The Global Trends 2030 report predicts that Asia will outpace the US and European economies by 2030. “China alone will probably have the largest economy, surpassing that of the United States a few years before 2030”, the report confirms. The report also warns of a slow relative decline in most developed nations including Russia and Japan. The living standards in most advanced nations are likely to fall according to the report. The report also says that the US will consolidate its strength in the form of powerful coalitions and in the dominant global role played by the nation.
"Demand for food, water and energy will grow by approximately 35, 40 and 50 percent respectively owing to an increase in the global population and the consumption patterns of an expanding middle class", the report said.
The quadrennial report is published by the National Intelligence Council (NIC) of the US as an attempt to advice the president following each election. It aims to take a look at the sweeping trends that may transform the world in the years to come.
