Giant US Partners of NRA Cut Ties with Gun Lobby after Hastag #BoycottNRA Gains Momentum

  • Several US companies partnering NRA (National Rifle Association) have severed ties with the powerful gun lobby after Florida Republican Governor Rick Scott supported the call of increasing the legal minimum age of purchasing guns from the current 18 years to 21 years. Scott, known as NRA ally, previously opposed stricter gun laws in Florida. However, he opted for mild gun reforms in the state after the Florida school shooting left 17 dead. As hashtag #BoycottNRA call gained momentum, NRA-partners such as car rental giants Hertz and Enterprise have cut all ties with the powerful gun lobby. The firms still under tremendous pressure for cutting ties with NRA include FedEx and Amazon.
