Ghana: Fire at petrol station in flooded Accra kills 175
June 5 , 2015
Around 175 people are feared killed in a massive blaze at a petrol station in Accra.
The fire started as life in Ghana’s capital city was disrupted by two days of intense rain, snapping power supplies and forcing people to come on the streets.
The flooding on the streets has hampered rescue work, and may have even been the cause of the fire, reports said.
John Dramani Mahama, Ghana’s president, has declared three days of national mourning.
