Geneva: WHO Declared COVID-19 the Most Severe Global Health Emergency

As per the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, Switzerland, Covid-19 is easily the most severe global health emergency. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus of WHO said that there have been five other health emergencies namely Ebola (two outbreaks), Zika, Polio, and Swine Flu. When WHO declared a public health emergency of international concern on January 30, there were less than 100 cases outside of China and no deaths. But today, more than 16 Million Coronavirus cases were have been reported since January and more than 650,000 deaths. And the total number of cases have roughly doubled in the past six weeks. Dr Tedros further said that "the world had made a huge effort in fighting the virus, there remained a long hard road ahead of us".
