Gaza war: Israel says military actions were 'lawfu'
June 15 , 2015
Israeli government has described its military actions in the 2014 Gaza war as “legitimate”.
A report issued by the government says Israel had made “substantial” efforts to avoid civilian casualties, and its actions were “lawful”.
According to the United Nations, the 50-day war killed around 2,190 Palestinians, including more than 1,480 civilians. On the other side, 67 Israeli soldiers and six civilians were killed.
In the report, Israel has sought to blame Hamas for the Palestinian civilian deaths, saying that the militants turned civilian structures into military centers.
