G7 Summit in Canada Witnessed No Breakthrough but US-EU Agree to Hold Dialogue on Trade

  • A French Official signalled a small step forward during G7 Summit in Canada by saying that a dialogue process on trade related matters will be established between the USA and European Union in the next 2 weeks. While talking to the media, the French official said on Friday afternoon that “the principle of a dialogue” has been agreed upon by everyone including the US President Donald Trump. US trade allies include EU, Canada, and Mexico are furious after the United States imposed tariffs on imports of aluminium from these countries. Though US President Trump still held up the views that his country is at an disadvantageous position during trade with its allies, his tone was more affable after meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
