G7 Countries Criticize United State's New Tariffs on Steel and Aluminium Import

  • Finance Ministers of G7 nations, except USA, severely criticized the US move of imposing new tariffs on steel and aluminium imports. After facing the sharp criticism, US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said that his country hasn’t abandoned leadership in the global economy and assured of passing on the strong reactions of the other G7 countries regarding new tariffs to the US President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, in Beijing, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross carried out a meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He for easing trade tension between both the economic giants. During the G7 meeting, held at Canadian ski resort, European Union and Canada threatened the USA to retaliate.
