Future king of Saudi Arabia strengthens grip on power through anti-corruption purge

The future king of Saudi Arabia has launched an anti-corruption purge thereby strengthening his grip on power. Through the purge, the future king has arrested investors, royals and ministers. Among those arrested is Alwaleed bin Talal, one of Saudi Arabia's most important businessman. According to media reports, Talal has been arrested on charges of bribery, money laundering, and extorting officials. The purge also targeted Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, head of the National Guard.
