Front National continues winning momentum in France
September 29 , 2014
France’s far-right Front National (FN) continues to impress electorally, winning its first ever seats in the country’s Senate.
The party’s Stéphane Ravier won in Marseilles and David Rachline emerged victorious in Fréjus.
Describing it as a “historic victory,” FN leader Marine Le Pen said the party’s ideas were “making progress.”
The results are another blow for the ruling Socialists and François Hollande, the most unpopular French president in recent history.
