France has suspended two of its soldiers following allegations of child sex abuse in Burkina Faso, the French defense ministry said.
The two were suspected of “engaging in acts of a sexual nature” with two minors in the west African country, the ministry said in a statement.
According to reports, one alleged victim was a five-year-old girl who was filmed being sexually abused by one of the soldiers.
The incidents follow allegations of sex abuse involving French soldiers in Central African Republic.
