France raids alleged jihadist network

French police have targeted a jihadist network in the southern Toulouse region and other parts of France, media reports said.
The suspected network is believed to be responsible for sending Islamist fighters to Syria, the Agence France-Presse reported.
The raids were carried out by anti-terrorism and elite unites of the police, it said. Information on the number of arrests was not immediately available.
Some 1,000 French nationals are believed to have joined the jihadist cause in Syria and Iraq.
