France: A Woman Killed by Hounds in Northern France Forest

  • In northern France forest outside the town of Villers-Cotterets, the body of a 29-year-old woman was found by the Paris police. Autopsy reports shows that she was beaten by dogs several times in the upper and lower limbs and the head. In order to establish which one attacked her, 93 dogs were tested including some hounds and the woman's own five dogs. Brigitte Bardot, the President of animal welfare foundation asked to "suspend all hunt authorisation for this season". However, the French hunting association says "nothing shows the involvement of hunting hounds in the death of this woman".
