Four killed in northern Italy earthquake

  • A 6.0 magnitude earthquake in northern Italy has killed at least four people and caused serious damage to buildings in several towns.

    The quake struck just after 04:00 local time (02:00 GMT) about 22 miles (35 km) north of Bologna city.

    According to officials, three of the victims died when the buildings they were working in collapsed.

    Rescue teams are now searching the area following reports that more people may be buried under the rubble.
