Four dead in earthquake in western China

  • At least four people were feared killed and dozens injured in an earthquake that hit a mountainous region of western China, media reports said.

    The 6.3 magnitude quake hit around 20 miles west of Kangding in the province of Sichuan.

    The dead included an elderly woman who was hit by a window pane that came crashing down due to the quake. More than 40 children were injured in a stampede at a school in the town of Tagong, reports said.
