Forces loyal to former Yemen president Ali Abdullah Saleh storm airport

  • Forces loyal to Yemen’s former president Ali Abdullah Saleh clashed with security forces loyal to the current president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi in Aden. According to media reports, the attackers stormed an international airport in the city triggering gun battles between the two sides and leading to the facility being closed down. Officials said three of the attackers loyal to Saleh were killed in the attack, while ten were captured. As soon as the firing started, nearly 100 passengers who had boarded the flight to Cairo were ordered off the plane and taken to the terminal building.
