Flynn Pleads Guilty of Lying to FBI Interview

  • US prosecutors investigating potential collusion between presidential campaign of Donald Trump and Russia got a major breakthrough when former national security adviser Michael Flynn said he’s ready to testify about Russian contacts. On Friday morning in a federal courthouse of Washington DC, Flynn pleaded guilty of lying to FBI on one count. He admitted lying to FBI agents during interview after he held conversations with Sergey Kislyak (the then-Russian ambassador) regarding US sanctions on Russia and other issues. Flynn also revealed receiving direction from unnamed "very senior transition official" in December 2016 on what to discuss with the then-Russian ambassador.
