Floods kill 36 in northern Sudan

Authorities in Sudan reported that floods have killed at least 36 and left thousands of others homeless. At least 5,000 homes have been destroyed with almost half of them beyond repair. Lot of families are facing issues with electricity and means of transportation.
Many people in Sudan live in small homes that can be washed away easily. Images of the region showed submerged mud bricks homes under water.
Although the River Nile state in the north has been hit the most, thousands of people from across eight states have been affected. Its expected to rain more in the coming days and the number of affected people is likely to rise.
