Floods in Philippine capital Manila kill 9 people

At least nine people have died as torrential rain caused flooding across the Philippine capital Manila.
The flooding has forced tens of thousands of people to flee their homes, shutting down schools, offices and the stock exchange.
Nine members of one family were killed after a landslide hit shanty houses in Quezon City.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, "the south-west monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm Haikui located 184 miles north-east of Taiwan" was likely to bring more rain.
More than 50 people died when Typhoon Saola struck last month.
