Floods in North Carolina kill two people

  • Two people from different families drowned while swimming in a creek Saturday afternoon. 

    Heavy rain and flash floods caused the drowning of a 10-year-old girl named Dalilah Lovett and 48-year-old man named Juan Alberdi. 

    Wilson's Creek in Caldwell County is 100 miles north of Charlotte and the floods ended up raising the creek up 2 feet subsequently creating swift currents. The floods have caused at least 24 roads to close and has damaged 130 homes and buildings, according to AP.
