January 15 , 2015
The US officials have reportedly said on Wednesday, January 14, that five Yemeni men were freed from Guantánamo Bay after spending more than 12 years in captivity, and sent for resettlement to Estonia and Oman.
While four men went to Oman, one went to Estonia, according to media reports.
This is the first time that these two countries have accepted inmates from the Guantánamo prison.
All five had been seized in Pakistan and later were arrested by the US as suspected al-Qaida militants.
