Colombia lifts suspension of bombing campaign after Farc rebels kill 11 troops
April 16 , 2015
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos has lifted the suspension of air attacks against the Farc rebel group after 11 soldiers were killed and 19 injured in a major assault by the left-wing guerrillas.
The government had declared a temporary bombing truce in March. The two sides have been involved in peace talks in Cuba.
The rebel attack in the western Cauca province is being described as the biggest violation of the ceasefire.
Farc, which was founded more than five decades ago, is Colombia's largest rebel group.
