Facebook Puts Australia on Trial by Hiding Number of Posts
September 27 , 2019
Social media giant Facebook has decided to hide the number of likes on users' posts on a trial basis in Australia. And this trial phase will be implemented from today, September 27, whereby citizens of Australia will not be able to see the number of likes or reactions on their own post or any other person's post. Facebook clarified that the motive behind this trial is to reduce the social pressure among its users. Further, this would also help in redirecting users' focus from the number of likes to quality content and better social interaction. As per reports, this step has been taken after the implications of such a trial were closely reviewed by the tech experts and mental health experts, as well as anti-bullying groups.
