Explosion kills at least 40 in Syria

At least 40 people died in an explosion at an ammunition depot in the city of Homs, Syria and medical sources said the number of deaths could increase since the survivors are seriously injured.
The explosion occurred after shells fell on the pro-regime quarters of the city. The United Nations is sending a team, consisting of a head and about 10 experts from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the World Health Organization, to Syria to investigate three reports of chemical weapons use.
Amid the fighting, that has killed nearly 100,000 people and dispatched millions, there have been allegations regarding the usage of chemical weapons.
