Experts think they have answered on HIV Mystery
May 12 , 2014
Researchers have wondered as to why 60 percent of AIDS victims in Africa are women as compared to the rest of the world where majority of them are men. However, Norwegian experts said they now have an explanation since a disease knows as "schisto" can make women susceptible to AIDS. It has now affected 200 million people in Africa, according to media reports.
The disease has a way of leading HIV into a person's body and affected women face nearly thrice the danger of developing AIDS.
"We need to track all these things down and see what's a cause and what's just another disease you have at the same time, like cervical cancer," a source at an AIDS-fighting agency said.
