Experimental Ebola vaccine sent to Liberia
January 23 , 2015
Liberia will soon receive the first batch of an experimental Ebola vaccine, media reports say.
The vaccine has been produced by GlaxoSmithKline, the UK firm, and the US National Institutes of Health.
The first volunteer may be immunized within the coming weeks.
However, some experts believe that establishing the effectiveness of the vaccine could be tricky as cases of Ebola have been falling in west Africa.
A GlaxoSmithKline representative said the company was confident about progressing “to the next phases of clinical testing."
