Evo Morales set to serve third term as Bolivian president
October 13 , 2014
Evo Morales is set to serve as president of Bolivia for a third term after a quick count and exit poll both indicated a big victory for the populist leader, according to media reports.
Claiming victory, he said this was a win for “anti-imperialists and anti-colonialists.”
Morales has pledged to step up socialist reforms that have led to a natural gas-led booming economy.
An exit poll gave him more than 60% of the vote, far ahead of his main rival Samuel Medina, who had just 24%.
