Euthanasia legal for kids in Belgium
February 14 , 2014
Belgium has allowed terminally ill children to ask to be put to death under legislation, which has been approved by the lawmakers of the nation.
The country already allows euthanasia for adults and the recent action has removed all age restrictions. Only children who suffer from "constant and unbearable physical suffering" are eligible to make such a request, which would also need to be approved by his doctors, psychologists and parents.
Critics don't believe that children are capable of taking such decisions for themselves. "Assassins!" a spectator yelled.
