European Countries Rush to Keep Iran Nuclear Deal Alive
May 12 , 2018
European leaders are carrying out flurry of diplomatic activities to save the Iran Nuclear Deal after the US President Donald Trump withdrew from the coveted deal. Reports say German Chancellor Angela Merkel has spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin and UK PM Theresa May has discussed the matter with the US President. The most vocal about the need of saving the Iran nuclear deal is the French ministers, who say cancellation of the current deal will adversely affect major European businesses. Some of the major European business houses that are expected to lose billions of dollars due to scraping of the Iran Nuclear Deal include European plane-manufacturer Airbus, French energy giant Total, car-makers Renault and Peugeot, and many more.
