Eight killed in Qadri revenge attack in Pakistan
March 7 , 2016
At least eight people were killed in a bombing attack in the Pakistani town of Shabqadar. Media reports quoted the police as saying that 27 people were wounded in the apparent suicide attack that took place at the entrance to a court in the town. Militants claim that the bombing was to avenge last week’s hanging of Mumtaz Qadri, who had killed the governor of Punjab in 2011 for opposing blasphemy laws. Many see Qadri as a religious hero.
