Egypt's cabinet resigns; oil minister asked to form new government

Egypt’s cabinet has resigned but it will continue in a caretaker role till a new government gets formed, according to the office of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.
Though no reasons were given for the decision, it comes after the arrest of the agriculture minister over allegations of corruption.
The cabinet’s resignation was submitted by prime minister Ibrahim Mehleb and accepted by Sisi. Oil minister Sherif Ismail has been asked to form the new cabinet, the statement said.
