Egyptian troops kill suspected militants in Sinai

According to an Egyptian military official, army troops with helicopter gunships killed nine and arrested 10 suspected Islamic militants in Sinai.
After this incident, the death toll among the militants has risen to 29 since a major military offensive began in Egypt on Saturday.
The official who spoke anonymously said explosives, ammunition and weapons were found in two villages south of the town of Rafah on Monday. The names of the villages near the border with Gaza are el-Mahdiya and Naga Shabana.
Efforts are being made by the Egyptian offensive to eliminate several al-Qaeda inspired groups that have recently taken hold in the villages of the region.
