Egyptian football league suspended after clashes kill 22
February 9 , 2015
Egypt has indefinitely suspended football league matches following deadly clashes at a Cairo stadium that killed at least 22 people on Sunday.
The victims were crushed when the police fired tear gas at Zamalek supporters who were attempting to forcibly enter the stadium for a game against ENPPI, a rival team.
Fans alleged that the authorities opened only one gate.
The police are likely to arrest the so-called White Knights, who lead the group of Zamalek fans.
