Egypt PM visits Gaza
November 16 , 2012
Egypt’s prime minister denounced Israeli attacks on Gaza during a short visit to the territory earlier today.
Hisham Qandil, who visited a hospital and talked to Palestinian politicians during his three-hour visit, stated Israeli "aggression" must stop.
Israel struck at more than 130 targets overnight while militants fired 11 rockets from Gaza.
At least 18 Palestinians and three Israelis have died since Israel began its offensive on Wednesday.
Militants and civilians, including five children, are among the Palestinian dead.
Israel had agreed to stop firing during his visit on the condition that militants also stop their rocket attacks.
Soon after Qandil's arrival, Israeli officials re-launched air strikes because rockets had continued to hit Israeli cities.
