Egypt declares Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization
December 26 , 2013
Egypt's interim government has declared that the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the move is expected to give more power to the authorities in cracking down on the group. Hossam Eissa mentioned that those who were involved in any activities of the group or financed it, would be punished.
Ousted President Mohamed Morsi belongs to the Muslim Brotherhood, which has been responsible for almost everyday protests in the nation.
"Egypt was horrified from north to south by the hideous crime committed by the Muslim Brotherhood group," Eissa said. The group has repeatedly denied having anything to do with the militant attacks now striking the country.
