Ebola trials may start in December

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that trials for the Ebola vaccine would start in west Africa by December, and by the middle of next year, hundreds of thousands of its doses would be available.

In a meeting, donor and affected countries along with manufacturers of vaccines have decided to go ahead at rapid speed although information on the vaccines’ safety is still sketchy.

Liberia may be the first west African where high-risk people are vaccinated on a trial basis.
