Ebola threat: US to send 3,000 military personnel

The United States is sending 3,000 military personnel to west Africa to provide logistical and medical support to the countries struggling to cope with the Ebola epidemic, according to media reports.
More than 2,200 people have died in the outbreak this year.
The US initiative will include training hundreds of healthcare workers, creating new facilities, and providing healthcare kits to thousands of families in the affected regions.
US Democratic Senator Chris Coons has described the Ebola outbreak as a “global security crisis.”
