Ebola: Samantha Power criticizes international response

  • Samantha Power, the United States ambassador to the UN, has criticized the global response to the Ebola crisis.

Power, who is visiting Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia — the three west African countries hit hardest by the deadly virus — told NBC that some nations who had offered support have not “taken responsibility yet” in areas such as supply of doctors and aid to the affected countries.

She said the response by the international community to the epidemic needs to be raised to “a wholly different scale”.
