Ebola death toll has crossed 3,000: WHO

  • The Ebola death toll in west Africa has crossed 3,000, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).  

    Over 6,500 people are believed to be infected with the deadly virus in the region, with Liberia the worst affected nation.

    More than 200 healthcare workers have died from the disease so far, the WHO report says.

    US president Barack Obama has called for a more urgent global response to tackle the crisis, saying not enough was being done.
