Ebola: David Miliband warns of 'absolute tipping point'
October 10 , 2014
Former British foreign secretary David Miliband has said that the Ebola outbreak was putting Sierra Leone’s years of social and economic progress at risk.
Miliband, who now heads the International Rescue Committee, was on a visit to the Sierra Leone capital Freetown. He told the Guardian newspaper that an “absolute tipping point” had been reached in efforts to control the disease and prevent it from becoming a “widespread disaster.”
The World Bank President, Jim Kim, had earlier said that the global response to Ebola had “failed miserably.”
