Earthquake Strikes the Coast of Puerto Rico Island in Atlantic Ocean

  • On Monday night, a 6.O magnitude earthquake struck the coast of the Puerto Rico island in the Atlantic Ocean. As per United States Geological Survey, the earthquake walloped about 49 miles north-northwest of Isabela around 11:23 pm. They further informed that three quakes followed in quick succession after the first shock, including one with a magnitude of 4.7. However, Governor Wanda Vazquez Garced clarified in a tweet that no damage has been observed so far. Also, the National Weather Service Pacific Tsunami Warning Center further clarified that there is no threat of Tsunami from the quake that can be foreseen.
