Earthquake in El Salvador

  • An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter hit El Salvador today morning, which has the highest density of population in Central America. As per US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake lay at a depth of around 40 miles (65 km). The government authorities of El Salvador issued tsunami warnings for the local population, advising people to avoid the sea for a few hours. No casualties have been reported till now.
